Job Summary

The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry is seeking an IT Expert to conceptualize, develop, and operate their central storage and High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures. This role involves the independent design, procurement, implementation, and administration of fileserver systems and the institute-wide HPC cluster. Key responsibilities include managing storage infrastructure, implementing backup/restore processes, filesystem management, and optimizing storage and cluster architecture. The ideal candidate will also administer virtualized environments, manage licenses, and provide support for scientific applications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a leading international research environment, contributing to cutting-edge scientific endeavors while collaborating with various scientific and IT departments. The role is initially for two years with the potential for permanent employment.
