Job Summary
This part-time role (50%) at the Federal Office for Radiation Protection involves maintaining and operating Germany's solar UV measurement network and optical laboratories. The successful candidate will perform independent maintenance and repair work on measuring devices, create and maintain testing documentation, and support quality assurance and data validation. The position requires travel within Germany to external measurement stations, often in hard-to-reach areas. Ideal for a professional with a background in electrical or mechatronics engineering, experience with optical measurement technology, and a strong sense of responsibility, this role offers a chance to contribute to environmental safety and public protection from radiation.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant, Physical-Technical Assistant, Electrician, Mechatronics Technician, or comparable qualification. Ideally, further training as a Master (Meister) in this field. Qualification as an Electrotechnical Specialist is a plus or willingness to obtain it.
Experience
- Professional experience with measurement technology, ideally optical measurement technology
- Experience operating laboratory instruments
- Experience in documentation
Languages
Additional
- Willingness to undertake business trips within Germany for maintenance work on the measurement network, including to difficult-to-access or non-barrier-free areas. This is a part-time position (50% of regular weekly working hours). Must be able to work in Berlin.
