Job Summary

This role involves critical field service and maintenance for the nationwide IMIS (Integrated Measurement and Information System) network, focusing on radiation protection and emergency response for the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS). The technician will conduct nuclide-specific measurements using mobile systems in the field, primarily covering parts of Lower Saxony, Hesse, and Thuringia. Key responsibilities include planning and executing maintenance, testing, and documentation of Gamma Dose Rate (ODL) measurement stations, often requiring multi-day travel as a self-driver. The ideal candidate holds a state-certified technician degree in Electrical Engineering (preferably focusing on Information and Communication Technology) or Physics Technology, possesses knowledge of digital data transmission, radio technology, and electronic data processing, and is prepared to participate in radiological emergency response duties and exercises. This is an essential position ensuring the readiness and reliability of Germany's radiation monitoring infrastructure.

Required Skills

Education

State-Certified Technician degree in Electrical Engineering (preferably Information and Communication Technology focus) or Physics Technology

Experience

  • Professional experience in digital data transmission and radio technology
  • Knowledge and experience in electronic data processing
  • Experience in radiation protection (ideal, but not mandatory)
  • Experience with DGUV3 inspections (ideal, but not mandatory)
  • Experience with low voltage networks (230V)
