Job Summary

This role involves ensuring the operational readiness and maintenance of the nationwide IMIS (Integrated Measurement and Information System) network for measuring gamma dose rate. The technician will be responsible for conducting nuclide-specific measurements using mobile systems in the field, primarily covering parts of Lower Saxony, Hesse, and Thuringia. Key responsibilities include planning travel, driving a service vehicle (often requiring overnight stays), performing comparative measurements, and creating digital documentation of measurement sites. The ideal candidate holds a certification as an Electrical Engineering or Physics Technician, possesses knowledge of digital data transmission, radio technology, and electronic data processing, and is prepared for extensive fieldwork, including participation in radiological emergency response and exercises. This position offers a stable, permanent contract within a federal authority dedicated to radiation protection.

Certified Technician (Staatlich geprüfte*r Techniker*in) in Electrical Engineering (preferably with a focus on Information and Communication Technology) or Physics Technology

Experience

  • Professional experience in digital data transmission and radio technology
  • Professional experience in electronic data processing
  • Experience in radiation protection (Desirable)
  • Experience with DGUV3 inspections (Desirable)
  • Experience working with low voltage networks (230V)
