Job Summary
The GSG 9, Germany's elite federal police tactical unit, is seeking an IT Specialist to join their Information Technology team in Sankt Augustin. This role involves managing the special IT procedures for the GSG 9, including the operation, development, and administration of IT systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for market research, testing, procurement, and training related to IT procedures, ensuring IT security and data protection are maintained. They will also provide crucial IT support during national and international deployments and assist police leaders in the effective use of information technology in operational scenarios. Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a comparable technical study program
Experience
- At least 18 months of relevant professional experience in IT operations, development, administration, or IT security/data protection (or willingness to gain this experience within the role)
- Practical experience in web and database application development
- Experience in the conception and implementation of specialized IT projects

- Must be willing to become a police officer in the higher police enforcement service. Must not have completed 34th year of life on day of employment (or 42nd year if possessing at least three years of professional experience). Must hold German, EU/EEA citizenship. Must be willing to participate in a specialized aptitude and selection process. Must be willing to uphold the democratic constitutional order of Germany. Must have no criminal record. Must be in sound financial standing. Must be physically fit for police service (determined by sports test and medical examination). Willingness to travel nationally and internationally for deployments.
