Job Summary

This role involves serving as a Scientific Officer within the specialized forces of the Federal Police Directorate 11, focusing on Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) threats, specifically in the chemical domain. The officer will be responsible for scientifically developing police CBRN scenarios, establishing operational and tactical requirements, and providing specialized chemical expertise to incident management teams. Key duties include developing and managing specific chemical training concepts for all Federal Police departments, conducting lectures, participating in national and international working groups, and evaluating scientific publications. The ideal candidate must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in applied or analytical chemistry, possess documented expertise in handling C-substances (detection, analysis, disposal), and demonstrate strong conceptual thinking and fluency in English.

Required Skills

Education

Master’s degree or equivalent university degree (Diplom or Magister) in Applied Chemistry and/or Analytical Chemistry

Experience

  • Professional experience and expertise in handling C-substances (detection, analysis, disposal)
  • Experience in handling explosives and explosive substances in the field of toxicology
  • Experience in police C-incident management (evidence of relevant experience required)
  • Experience in national and international working groups (implied by participation requirement)
