Job Summary

This role is for a Research Associate focusing on migratory salmonids within the Weser river system, specifically for the DBU-funded "WeserLachs" project at Hochschule Bremen. The successful candidate will be responsible for qualitative stock assessment of migratory salmonids, genetic analysis of spawning salmon and sea trout, organizing networking events, and implementing river restoration measures. Key requirements include a scientific university degree (Master's/University Diploma) in Biology or a related field, experience in fish ecology and aquatic fieldwork, and proficiency in electrofishing and boat operation. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to significant ecological research within an international academic environment, working with diverse stakeholders including angling communities and aquatic conservationists.
