Job Summary
As an IT Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for the professional installation, expansion, and commissioning of data networks, including active and passive network components and UPS systems, primarily in medium-sized retail environments. This role involves supporting large IT rollouts and installations of server, client, and communication systems, as well as independently resolving IT/telecommunications issues on-site at customer locations. You will also be tasked with creating and maintaining technical documentation. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge, manual dexterity, and a customer-oriented approach, coupled with a willingness to travel and work independently across various locations in Northern Bavaria, Thuringia, and Saxony.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IT Systems Electrician, Electrician, Electronics Technician, or similar
Experience
- Professional experience in setting up passive data and/or electronic networks
- Good technical knowledge and manual dexterity
- Good knowledge of network topologies (cabling types for IT and traditional voice networks, DSL, switches, routers, access points etc.)
- Willingness to learn and work independently and solution-oriented
- Reliability, flexibility, and self-reliance
- Suitability for temporary work at heights of 3m – 7m
- High sense of responsibility and resilience
- Customer and service orientation
Languages
Additional
- Class 3/B driving license required; Willingness to travel (Northern Bavaria/Thuringia/Saxony), including overnight stays in hotels depending on assignment; Participation in internal and external training courses (e.g., WLAN, telephone systems, video surveillance, UPS, measurement techniques, lift platform training).
