Job Summary
This role involves critical support for a research group focused on seed development in barley, utilizing genetic and molecular genetic approaches. The Biological Technical Assistant will be responsible for planning, executing, and documenting a variety of molecular biological, biochemical, and plant physiological experiments. Key duties include managing experimental materials in climate chambers and greenhouses, performing molecular cloning, DNA/RNA extractions, and plant infection experiments. The position also entails preparing vectors and bacterial cultures, analyzing results for scientific processing, and guiding students and research assistants. The ideal candidate is an organized, reliable, and goal-oriented individual with a background in biological or laboratory assistance, eager to contribute to an international research team.
Required Skills
Education
Completed training as a Biological Technical Assistant, Biology Laboratory Technician, or comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in molecular biological and microbiological analysis techniques (ideally)
- Professional experience in bacterial work and bacterial cultivation (ideally)
Languages
Additional
- Foreign qualifications must undergo a paid equivalency check in Germany, to be presented upon employment. Initial contract duration of one year.
