Job Summary

This PhD position focuses on characterizing and mobilizing unique genetic diversity from *Hordeum Bulbosum*, a wild relative of Barley, to enhance the resilience and sustainability of cereal crops against accelerating climate change stresses. The successful candidate will conduct phenotypic characterization of *Hordeum Bulbosum* collections, develop hybridization crossing protocols, and perform cytogenetic analysis of *Bulbosum* and barley. A key component involves generating and analyzing whole genome sequencing data, followed by the analysis, publication, and presentation of research results. The role requires an MSc in biology, biochemistry, or crop science, practical experience in molecular biology, and foundational skills in bioinformatics or cytogenetics.
