Job Summary

This role is for a Postdoctoral Scientist to join the Genomics of Genetic Resources research group, focusing on small grain cereal genome analysis, including structural, comparative, and epigenomics, often utilizing pan-genome datasets. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) for chromosome scale assembly using advanced technologies like PACBIO Hifi, Kinnex, and Hi-C, conducting comparative genomics and gene functional analysis, and collaborating closely with the central NGS facility. Key requirements include a PhD in Biology or equivalent, a strong background in genetics and genomics, and experience with NGS methods. The position also involves project management, reporting, and publishing, offering a fixed-term, full-time contract in a world-class, international research environment.

  • Strong experimental (wet-lab) and theoretical background in genetics, molecular genetics, and genomics
  • Experience with Next Generation Sequencing methods

  • Experience with R and Linux in a cluster environment (advantageous)
