Job Summary
This role is for an Engineer to join the "Measurement Technology and Analytics" department in Karlsruhe, focusing on the operation of statewide air quality measurement networks. The successful candidate will be involved in the setup, commissioning, installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of measurement stations, analysis devices, and data acquisition/transmission systems. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, data plausibility checks, and conducting electrical equipment inspections. This position requires significant field work, including extensive driving and overnight stays. It's an excellent opportunity for both experienced professionals and recent graduates who are hands-on, technically skilled, and committed to environmental protection.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor, FH-Diplom) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Telecommunications Engineering, Safety Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or Environmental Engineering. For foreign degrees, a certificate evaluation from the Central Office for Foreign Education is required.
Experience
- Professional experience in setting up and commissioning measurement stations
- Experience with installation, calibration, maintenance, and testing of analysis devices and data systems
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing measurement station components
- Experience with electrical device and equipment testing (DGUV V3)
- Suitable for entry-level professionals
Languages
Additional
- Must possess a Class B, BE, C1/C1E (old Class 3) driving license and be willing to drive long distances daily (up to 40,000 km/year). Willingness to stay overnight two to three days per week and occasionally work overtime or on weekends. Must be physically resilient and enjoy fieldwork. Copy of driving license required with application.
