Job Summary
Join a DFG-funded international project as a PhD student focusing on machine learning and metabolomics to investigate plant-microbiome interactions. This role involves processing and curating LC-MS/MS data, designing and training machine learning models for mass spectrometry and chemometric data, and integrating multi-omic data including genomics and transcriptomics. You will be expected to present your research findings at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in bioinformatics or data science, programming skills in Python or R, and an interest in interdisciplinary teamwork at the intersection of biology and data science within a world-class research environment.
Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Systems Biology, or other relevant fields
Experience
- Professional experience in programming with Python and/or R
- Knowledge of omics technologies, ideally mass spectrometry and chemometrics
- Knowledge of basic molecular biology/biochemistry
- Experience with independent work and transparent management of data science projects

- Foreign qualifications must undergo an equivalence test in Germany, which is subject to a fee and required upon hiring.
