Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity for an early career scientist to join a Leibniz-funded research consortium focusing on the impact of elevated temperature stress on barley yield. The Postdoctoral Scientist will characterize molecular pathways regulating spike and grain development using state-of-the-art genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics methods in a field-like setting. Daily tasks involve applying advanced molecular techniques such as DAP-seq, RNA-seq, confocal microscopy, and protoplast assays to construct and validate gene regulatory networks. The role requires analyzing complex biological data (transcriptome, DAP-seq, GWAS) and performing anatomical phenotyping and biochemical assays. Candidates must hold a PhD in plant science or a related field and possess strong experience in barley research, genomics, and bioinformatics. The position offers an exciting project with opportunities for independent research and requires strong scientific curiosity, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
