Job Summary

This role is for a highly motivated Research Scientist to join the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the MaterialDigital Platform (PMD), focusing on developing and applying ontologies and semantic models for material science and engineering. Day-to-day tasks involve enhancing data interoperability, harmonizing data sources using Linked Data, and exploring new technologies like Large Language Models (LLMs) for ontology development. The position also includes developing quality assessment procedures for data models, advising industrial projects on ontology use, and presenting research findings at conferences.
