Job Summary

The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) is seeking a Research Scientist to join their Inorganic Trace Analysis department in Berlin-Adlershof. This role focuses on advancing Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) for biomedical samples within the SFB 1340 "Matrix in Vision" research project. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting LA-ICP-MS measurements, developing quantification strategies, summarizing findings in scientific reports and publications, and presenting at conferences. Additionally, the role involves supervising Bachelor's, Master's, and doctoral theses. This position offers an opportunity for interdisciplinary research within national and international networks, flexible working hours, and mobile work options, contributing to technical safety in material science, engineering, and chemistry.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Diplom, Master) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a comparable field. A doctorate is advantageous.

Experience

  • Professional experience with Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS)
  • Experience with Laser Ablation ICP-MS is an advantage
  • Experience in presenting and publishing research results
