Job Summary

The Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM), a federal research institution in Berlin, is seeking a Research Scientist to join their Metallic High-Temperature Materials department. This role involves contributing to a research project focused on how moisture and corrosive condensates affect the mechanical behavior of precipitation-hardened aluminum alloys in hydrogen-based energy conversion systems. The successful candidate will characterize fatigue behavior under LCF stress at various temperatures, conduct electrochemical corrosion and local corrosion mechanism studies using AFM, and perform post-examination of samples using fractographic, metallographic, and microscopic methods. The position requires strong expertise in material science, particularly in the mechanical behavior and microstructure of metals, and practical experience with material testing machines. It's an opportunity to work in a dynamic, future-oriented environment at the intersection of science, economy, and politics, contributing to technical safety.
