Job Summary

This Postdoctoral Research Scientist position, based in Jena, Germany, focuses on avian immunology and infection, specifically investigating gamma/delta T-cells in long-term immunity to Salmonella in chickens. The successful candidate will primarily manage a sub-project within a DFG research group, involving the planning and execution of molecular biological analyses, including genotyping, haplotyping, and sex determination of avian samples. Key responsibilities include cell isolation and sorting using FACS/Flow Cytometry for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), as well as bioinformatics processing and interpretation of sequence data. The role also involves developing multiparameter staining protocols, supervising students, communicating with international partners, and publishing research findings in international journals. This is an attractive opportunity for a highly qualified researcher to contribute to cutting-edge immunological research in a supportive, family-friendly scientific environment.
