Job Summary

The Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut is seeking a dedicated Biology Laboratory Technician or Technical Assistant to join their Institute for New and Emerging Animal Diseases (INNT) in Greifswald – Insel Riems. This full-time, fixed-term position, until July 2027, will support EU projects focused on atypical BSE propagation and wildlife-livestock infectious diseases. The role involves critical tasks such as organizing long-term animal experiments, general laboratory management, and working in a BSL3 laboratory to isolate infectious Prion proteins. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience with immunological-biochemical and molecular biological methods, and potentially experience in caring for small laboratory animals. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in a leading international institute.

Education

Completed training as a Biology Laboratory Technician, BTA (Biological Technical Assistant), or comparable qualification

Experience

  • • Professional experience in laboratory animal care (mice) with relevant expertise (e.g., FELASA B certificate) is an advantage for Technical Assistants
