Job Summary

The Building Safety Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring safety compliance during a major, multi-year renovation project (Building 50) within a chemical or pharmaceutical production environment in Basel. This position acts as the primary interface between the construction site management and the operating organization, providing essential support to the existing Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) team. Key responsibilities include issuing work permits to external contractors, monitoring adherence to relevant safety regulations, participating in coordination meetings, and conducting safety inspections as needed. The ideal candidate must possess a background as a Chemical Technician or Laboratory Assistant, coupled with at least three years of professional experience in chemical production, large construction sites, and GMP environments. Success in this role requires fluent German and English skills, strong knowledge of construction site safety, and relevant safety specialist certifications (EKAS/ASGS). Required Skills

Education

Completed training as a Chemical Technician or Laboratory Assistant. Additional certification as a Safety Assistant, Safety Specialist (EKAS), or Occupational Safety Expert (ASGS).
