Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join the German Centre for Astrophysics (DZA) in Görlitz, a new major research institution being established to strengthen the Lusatia region. The successful candidate will lead and coordinate the scientific and operational aspects of setting up a new underground research laboratory. Key responsibilities include managing project phases, planning and executing scientific research, coordinating interdisciplinary exchanges, and developing research questions and methodologies. The role also involves identifying funding opportunities, writing grant proposals, and collaborating with national and international partners. This position offers the chance to actively shape the future of astrophysics in Germany and contribute to groundbreaking research in a dynamic, international, and interdisciplinary environment. The role is initially limited until December 31, 2025, with potential for extension or permanent employment within the DZA.
