Job Summary

The Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics (IPP) is seeking a dedicated Head of Facility Management to lead a team of 20 professionals in Garching near Munich. This pivotal role involves overseeing the operational infrastructure, maintenance, and modernization of approximately 65 buildings, including traffic areas and green spaces on the campus. The successful candidate will be responsible for the disciplinary and technical leadership of the Facility Management group, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and driving process improvements. Key responsibilities also include managing technical systems, strategic oversight of infrastructural services, coordinating internal and external services, and managing the real estate portfolio. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to one of Germany's largest scientific and technical projects, focusing on fusion research for future energy supply, within a stable and long-term planning environment.
