Job Summary
The City of Münster is seeking a dedicated System Administrator to join the Adult Education Center (vhs) within the School and Continuing Education Department. In this full-time, permanent role, you will be the central IT contact, actively shaping the vhs's IT infrastructure from concept development to implementation, ensuring smooth operations and a positive external image. Key responsibilities include administering the _itm.manager_ software, providing IT support and training to staff and course instructors, and independently managing the vhs.cloud platform for educational purposes. You will also be crucial in documenting IT processes and contributing to digitalization strategies. This position offers an opportunity to work with modern industry software and digital learning platforms, contributing to the technical future of a municipal educational institution in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree with an IT focus (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics, Administrative Informatics, Business Administration) OR Bachelor Professional in IT (formerly Operative Professional) (IHK) OR IT apprenticeship (e.g., IT Specialist, IT Systems Management Assistant) OR Qualification for general administrative service (Laufbahngruppe 2, 1. Einstiegsamt) or completion of Verwaltungslehrgang II.
Experience
- At least three years of professional experience in IT or digitalization (if qualifying with Bachelor Professional in IT or IT apprenticeship)
- At least one year of professional experience in IT or digitalization (if qualifying with public administration service qualification or Verwaltungslehrgang II)

- Must meet qualifications by October 31, 2025. For civil servants, applications are only possible outside of probation period. Position can be filled part-time.
