Job Summary

This critical role places the specialist primarily in charge of the communication management system for the integrated control center of the Münster Fire and Rescue Service. Day-to-day responsibilities involve optimizing the IT infrastructure by evaluating technology trends, analyzing technical requirements, and developing specifications for high-availability IT components and systems. A significant portion of the work focuses on planning and executing modernization projects for the ITK infrastructure, integrating skills in project and change management, and public procurement. Furthermore, the specialist will handle the administration, operation, maintenance, and security monitoring of all IT and telecommunication components, conducting necessary tests, updates, and fault diagnostics. Candidates must possess a university degree in an IT-related field (such as Information and Communication Technology or Electrical Engineering) or an equivalent technical master/technician certification with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience. This position offers the chance to apply specialized IT expertise directly to public safety and emergency response operations.

Required Skills

Education

University degree with an IT focus (preferably Information and Communication Technology, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering); Alternatively: Certified Information Technology Master; Alternatively: State-certified Technician specializing in Electrical Engineering - Information and Communication Technology; Alternatively: Completed IT apprenticeship (e.g., IT Specialist) or Information Electronics Technician.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in IT, Electrical Engineering, or Digitalization (required for alternative qualifications)
  • Professional experience in communication technology and telecommunications (ideally)
