Job Summary

The City of Münster is seeking an IT Coordinator to join the Staff Council, playing a central role in maintaining and enhancing the IT infrastructure that supports the council's work. This position is part-time (19.5 hours/week) and permanent, focusing on ensuring smooth IT operations, hardware maintenance, and technical support for intranet and wiki platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing IT infrastructure solutions, coordinating personnel-specific software like Doxis, and developing and optimizing role and rights concepts. A critical aspect of the role involves independently handling data protection matters, acting as the Data Protection Officer, and ensuring compliance with IT data privacy requirements. The ideal candidate will have a background in IT, professional experience in public administration IT environments, and strong competencies in IT security and project management. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to maintaining the high quality of life in Münster by supporting key municipal functions.

Required Skills

Education

Completed IT training (e.g., IT Specialist or IT System Management Assistant) OR Bachelor Professional in IT (IHK) OR Qualification for general administrative service (Career Group 1, 2nd entry level) or completed Administrative Course I.

Experience

  • Practical experience in supporting IT infrastructures (Desirable)
  • Experience with hardware and software systems in public administration or comparable organization (Desirable)
  • Knowledge in IT data protection and IT security (Advantageous)
  • Experience participating in IT projects (Desirable)
  • At least one year of professional experience in the IT or digitalization sector (Alternative requirement)
