Job Summary

This role as an IT Security Specialist is crucial for the City of Münster's modern IT service provider (citeq), actively shaping the digital transformation of the public sector. You will serve as the primary contact for operational security within the Networks/Infrastructure team, ensuring seamless information flow to the central security team. Day-to-day tasks involve maintaining comprehensive security documentation across firewalls, networks, and data center infrastructure, supporting the implementation and auditing of BSI IT-Baseline Protection modules, and actively managing firewall operations, including configuration, rule optimization, monitoring, and log analysis. A key responsibility is incident management, requiring prompt analysis and documentation of security events. The ideal candidate possesses strong IT security knowledge, practical experience in security system administration, and conceptual strength to develop and implement new security solutions. Required Skills

Education

Completed IT-related university degree (e.g., Computer Science, Business Informatics, Administrative Informatics, or Business Administration); Alternatively: Completed advanced training as Bachelor Professional in IT (IHK); Alternatively: Completed IT apprenticeship (e.g., IT Specialist) or commercial apprenticeship with professional experience in IT/Digitalization; Alternatively: Qualification for general administrative service (Career Group 2, 1st entry level) or Administrative Course II.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the administration and operation of security systems and security infrastructures
  • Experience in creating and maintaining security-relevant documentation
  • At least one year of professional experience in the IT or digitalization sector (required for specific administrative qualification pathway)
