Job Summary

This role involves leading EU projects, initially focusing on ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System), within the Bundesverwaltungsamt (BVA), a central federal agency in Germany. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical leadership of the project, overseeing requirements gathering and timely implementation from analysis to commissioning. Key duties include acting as a crucial communication link between IT, specialist departments, external stakeholders, and service providers, ensuring project progress and adherence to deadlines. The position also requires representing the BVA's interests in national and EU committees, addressing complex legal and technical issues, and ensuring compliance with EU information system regulations, including data protection. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or university diploma in economics or administrative sciences (e.g., MPA, MPM, MBA) OR Civil servant of the non-technical administrative service (A 13h to A 14 BBesO)

Experience

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within complex (sub-)projects, especially those involving numerous stakeholders and extensive communication
  • Several years of professional experience in IT project management, preferably in a governmental or international environment (advantageous)
  • Experience in system- or cross-procedure collaboration with EU systems, considering interdependencies and coordinating central service tasks (advantageous)
  • Experience in managing external service providers (advantageous)
