Job Summary

The Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) is seeking multiple dedicated IT Experts to join their Digitalization Civil Protection unit in Bonn. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in enhancing Germany's resilience to crises by developing, managing, and analyzing digital situational products. Day-to-day tasks involve collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement interactive maps, web applications, and dashboards based on detailed requirements analysis. You will manage and analyze diverse spatial and non-spatial data sources, ensuring results are prepared for specific audiences. Furthermore, you will support the operation and technical advancement of the GeoIT infrastructure, evaluate the beneficial integration of Artificial Intelligence in civil protection, and handle essential administrative tasks like procurement. This position requires a degree in Informatics or a related field, strong knowledge of web technologies, data processing, and at least three years of relevant IT experience, coupled with fluency in German and advanced English skills.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor/Diplom FH) in Informatics, Geoinformatics, or a comparable course of study with an information technology focus.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the IT sector
  • Experience in the conception and implementation of data-driven, interactive applications
