Job Summary
The Technical University of Dresden (TUD), a leading research institution in Germany, is seeking an IT Specialist for System Integration to join its interdisciplinary "Physics of Life" (PoL) Cluster. This role involves the planning, implementation, and ongoing development of application-specific IT solutions, integrating hardware and software components into complex systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, operating, and administering IT systems, ensuring continuous operation and security through troubleshooting and solution development. Additionally, the specialist will provide expert technical support and advice to users on IT infrastructure, including videoconferencing and digital communication platforms. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, international research environment, working closely with various university IT units. The position offers a challenging and diverse role within an innovative team, with opportunities for further training and flexible working hours.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration or a similar suitable profession with equivalent knowledge and skills.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in a comparable role
- Professional experience in administration of Mac OS X and Windows clients
- Professional experience in administration of Linux servers and clients (Ubuntu, Debian, RedHat)
- Professional experience in implementation, operation, and administration of server services (Web Server, Database Server, Print Server on Unix/Linux, Linux-HPC-Cluster)
- Professional experience in software installation and scripting for automated software distribution
- Professional experience with CMS editorial systems like TYPO3
- Professional experience with RDBMS systems (MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL)
