Job Summary

Join the Biology Department at the University of Konstanz as a Technical Assistant on a full-time, fixed-term contract (parental leave replacement). This role involves providing essential technical support for ongoing research in plant development, utilizing molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and physiology techniques. You will be responsible for preparing sterile plant cultures, performing molecular analyses (nucleic acid prep, PCR, qRT-PCR, cloning), protein isolation, SDS-PAGE, Western blots, microscopy (epifluorescence, confocal, electron), preparing chemicals and media, general lab management, and data documentation. The ideal candidate possesses a qualification as a Technical Assistant (MTA/BTA) or equivalent, with experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and fluorescence microscopy. Strong organizational skills, reliability, responsibility, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are key.
