Job Summary

The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry is seeking a dedicated Technical Laboratory Assistant to join Dr. Kikuë Tachibana’s research team. In this role, you will play a vital part in investigating the molecular mechanisms of life’s beginnings, specifically focusing on mouse embryos. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include animal husbandry, experimental procedures such as genotyping and organ isolation, and meticulous documentation of experimental parameters using PyRAT. You will also be responsible for training new staff in animal handling and experimental techniques, while assisting with general laboratory organization. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant (BTA, CTA, PTA, VMTA, MTA) or Biological Laboratory Technician (Biologielaborant).

Experience

  • Professional experience in handling laboratory animals
  • Practical experience in applying molecular biological techniques
  • Experience in laboratory organization and documentation

Additional

  • Valid certificate of competence for animal experimentation (FELASA or equivalent) is mandatory. The position is initially limited to two years with the prospect of a permanent contract. Must be comfortable working with mice as experimental animals.
