Job Summary

The Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB) is seeking a Scientific Coordinator to lead the local office of the newly established Max Planck School of Biomedical AI. This pivotal role involves the institutional and organizational development of a cross-location graduate program at the intersection of biomedicine and artificial intelligence. Day-to-day, the coordinator will establish governance structures, manage financial and administrative reporting, and act as a central liaison between the school's leadership, the Max Planck Society, and various partner institutions. Key responsibilities include implementing a structured doctoral curriculum, managing international recruitment processes, and developing communication strategies to enhance the school's global visibility. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape a high-profile research network while working alongside leading scientists in AI and life sciences. Required Skills

Education

PhD in Life Sciences, Computational Sciences, or a related field.

Experience

  • Several years of professional experience in scientific management, research administration, or coordination of complex, multi-site programs
  • Proven experience in establishing or managing interdisciplinary organizational structures
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial and administrative management within a scientific context
  • Experience in strategic positioning and international brand positioning for research entities
