Job Summary

This role involves leading the vocational training program for up to 12 aspiring biology laboratory technicians at the prestigious Max Planck Institutes for Biochemistry and Biological Intelligence. You will be responsible for the disciplinary and technical leadership of trainees, delivering practical and theoretical instruction, and preparing students for their examinations. Day-to-day duties include managing the training laboratory, coordinating with various research stations, and handling the recruitment and selection process for new trainees. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Biology Laboratory Technician or a comparable qualification. Adherence to the Instructor Aptitude Ordinance (AEVO) is an advantage.

Experience

  • Professional experience as a Biology Laboratory Technician or in a comparable role
  • Extensive technical and theoretical knowledge in core biological laboratory disciplines
  • Professional experience in mentoring or teaching young professionals
  • Previous leadership experience, ideally as a trainer or training officer, is preferred
  • Experience in organizing and planning educational schedules and external partnerships
