Job Summary

This role involves supporting the Department of Molecular Machines and Signaling at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry by performing essential experimental work in structural cell biology and protein regulation. As a Technical Laboratory Assistant, you will manage cell cultures, execute protein expression and purification using ÄKTA systems, and conduct various molecular biology experiments such as cloning and nucleic acid analysis. Beyond technical tasks, you will be responsible for general laboratory maintenance, including stock control, equipment care, and the preparation of media and buffers. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in an international research environment. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a technical assistant (BTA, MTA, or CTA) is a prerequisite.

Experience

  • Professional experience in mammalian and insect cell culture and/or working with viruses
  • Solid knowledge of standard molecular biology, protein biochemistry, and cell biology techniques
  • Experience with technical, computer-controlled laboratory equipment
  • Proven experience in organizational skills and independent laboratory work
