Job Summary
The Eisenbahn-Bundesamt (Federal Railway Authority) is seeking a dedicated IT Administrator to join their IT department. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the Windows Server infrastructure, including its design, setup, ongoing development, and maintenance. A key part of your day-to-day will involve administering and enhancing the central Active Directory Service and the organization's core email system. You will also be tasked with implementing security settings, developing technical concepts, creating documentation, and providing 2nd level support for Windows and email-related issues. This position offers the opportunity to plan and execute IT operations projects within a modern public administration environment, contributing to the smooth functioning of critical IT systems.
Required Skills
Education
University of Applied Sciences Diploma (FH-Diplom) or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Administrative Informatics, Business Informatics, Business Administration, or comparable IT-related fields, or completed vocational training with proven equivalent skills and experience, or eligibility for the higher technical service in the federal administration.
Experience
- Experience and knowledge in Windows Server infrastructure administration
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Active Directory Service (ADS)
- Experience in administering and configuring Microsoft-based email systems
- Knowledge and experience in IT operations management, including IT security

- The position is suitable for part-time work. Mobile working is possible under applicable conditions. Candidates of all nationalities are welcome, provided they have fluent German language skills. Location is flexible, with options including Bonn, Essen, Cologne, Frankfurt am Main, Saarbrücken, Hamburg, Hanover, Schwerin, Berlin, Dresden, Erfurt, Halle, Karlsruhe, Nuremberg, Munich, or Stuttgart.
