Job Summary

The Federal Institute of Hydrology (BfG) is seeking an Engineer to join the Central Laboratory Management team in Koblenz, playing a crucial role in the digital transformation of its laboratory landscape. This position involves bridging laboratory operations and information technology. Key responsibilities include managing the procurement and steering the implementation of a new Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS), coordinating the integration of existing and new laboratory processes into the system, and ensuring its smooth operation. The successful candidate will also serve as the primary contact for employees, providing training and support. Essential qualifications include a technical or natural science university degree (Bachelor/FH Diploma) in fields such as Chemistry, Environmental Technology, or Engineering, coupled with strong German and proficient English skills. This is a permanent position offering an opportunity to shape critical infrastructure within a federal agency.

Education

Completed technical or natural science university degree (FH Diploma/Bachelor) in Chemistry, Environmental Technology, Environmental Engineering, or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience with a Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS) or comparable process management applications (desirable)
  • Experience with relational databases (desirable)
  • Experience in Quality Management (e.g., DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025) (desirable)
  • Experience with programming/scripting for automation or data preprocessing (desirable)
