Job Summary

The State Office for Environment, Nature Conservation and Geology (LUNG M-V) is seeking a Technical Specialist to support their air quality monitoring network. In this permanent, full-time role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and ongoing operation of specialized measuring equipment and infrastructure. Your daily duties include managing air quality monitoring containers, setting up passive sampler programs, and handling dust filter samples for laboratory analysis. You will also play a key role in the calibration laboratory and participate in national quality assurance trials. This position is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys field work and laboratory operations within a public sector environment dedicated to environmental protection. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing critical data to support environmental planning and government policy in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Required Skills

Education

State-certified technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker) in Environmental Protection, Environmental Technology, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Technology, Mechatronics, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in technical maintenance and repair of electronic measuring equipment
  • Experience in laboratory operations and quality assurance procedures
  • Experience with technical infrastructure such as routers and hardware interfaces

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

  • Valid Class B driver's license required; willingness to travel for work throughout the state and across Germany; C1 level German proficiency required.
