Job Summary
As a Linux System Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Linux-based system landscapes, specifically utilizing SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES). Your day-to-day duties will include automating tasks using Ansible, managing virtualized infrastructure with VMware and NetApp, and installing web and application servers. You will also provide 3rd-level support for incidents, problems, and changes, while developing and maintaining shell scripts to support operational processes. This role requires a strong technical background in Linux administration and the ability to analyze and adapt IT infrastructure to meet specific customer requirements. Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree, vocational training as an IT specialist (Fachinformatiker), or a comparable qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in the administration of Linux derivatives, with a specific focus on SUSE
- Professional experience in infrastructure management including virtualization and storage systems
- Experience in 3rd level support and incident management processes

Additional
- Flexibility for weekend assignments and on-call duty is required. The position is offered through temporary employment with the option of permanent takeover.
