Job Summary
The University of Bremen is seeking an IT specialist to join their IT Service Center, focusing on High-Performance Computing (HPC) and research infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for building, operating, and evolving the university's central HPC environment, including managing clusters based on Ceph, Kubernetes, and OpenStack. You will support scientific projects in data science, AI/ML, and HPC, while developing administrative tools and accounting systems for resource usage. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor or FH-Diploma) in Computer Science or equivalent, OR completed vocational training as an IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) in System Integration or Application Development.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience with a university degree (Bachelor/FH-Diploma) in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience with a vocational training certification as an IT Specialist in System Integration or Application Development
- Professional experience in the conception and operation of HPC environments
- Professional experience in Linux server administration and network management

- Valid work permit for Germany required; must be able to submit applications in German; for non-EU degrees, ZAB/ANABIN recognition is required; for non-German vocational qualifications, official recognition in Germany is required.
