Job Summary

The Max Rubner-Institut is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer to join their National Reference Center for Authentic Food (NRZ-Authent) in Karlsruhe. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectrometers. Your day-to-day tasks will involve planning and executing NMR measurements of food samples, developing and validating new analytical methods, and performing software-based data evaluation and statistical analysis. You will also coordinate measurement capacities and provide guidance to staff and students. This position is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in instrumental analysis who is eager to work in a cutting-edge research environment. You will play a key role in ensuring food authenticity through precise scientific analysis while maintaining high standards of quality assurance and laboratory safety. Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a comparable qualification in a related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in instrumental analysis
  • 3+ years of professional experience in instrumental analysis (preferred)
  • Practical experience with NMR spectroscopy and NMR-specific software (preferred)
  • Experience in maintenance of analytical instrumentation (preferred)
  • Experience in analytical method development, establishment, and validation (preferred)
  • Experience in quality management and statistical data evaluation (preferred)
  • Experience in documentation and data preservation (preferred)
