Job Summary

As a Technical Assistant at the University Hospital Cologne's dental research center, you will play a vital role in supporting experimental basic research. Your day-to-day responsibilities include assisting the laboratory management, supporting students with their research projects, and handling complex laboratory tasks such as sample preparation for genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. You will be responsible for the cultivation and transformation of cells, tissues, and microorganisms, as well as the meticulous management and documentation of laboratory activities. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as BTA (Biological Technical Assistant), CTA (Chemical Technical Assistant), MTA (Medical Technical Assistant), MTD, MTL, or MTLA.

  • Professional experience in biochemical or chemical-biological methods
  • Professional experience in laboratory sample preparation, protein analysis, and DNA extraction

Additional

  • Must hold a recognized qualification as BTA/CTA/MTA/MTD/MTL/MTLA. Compliance with laboratory safety regulations (NachBioStoffV/GenTSV) is required. This is a fixed-term position for 1 year, full-time (38.5 hours/week).
