Job Summary

Join a leading University Hospital's Cardiac Surgery Research Laboratory as a Biological Laboratory Technician. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing therapeutic strategies for heart attack recovery and heart failure prevention. Your daily responsibilities include conducting molecular and cell biology experiments such as cell culture, Real-Time PCR, and Western blots, alongside performing FACS and MACS analyses. You will be responsible for isolating primary cells from mouse and human tissues, performing histological staining, and managing laboratory inventory and student supervision. Required Skills

Education

Successfully completed vocational training as a Biological Laboratory Technician (Biologielaborant) or Biology Technical Assistant (BTA) is mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in standard laboratory methods including Real-Time PCR, Western blot, ELISA, and FACS
  • Experience in animal experimentation is highly desired
  • Experience in the cultivation of primary cells from mouse and human tissue
  • Professional experience in laboratory organization and inventory management

Additional

  • FELASA B certificate is preferred. The position is located in Cologne, Germany, and is initially limited to a 12-month contract. Candidates must be comfortable working with laboratory mice.
