Job Summary
As the Head of HVAC at Saarland University, you will lead the mechanical engineering division within the Facility Management department. Your daily responsibilities include overseeing the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and conveyor technology systems, as well as the district heating network. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team, managing building technology upgrades, and ensuring modernization projects are executed efficiently. This role is ideal for a technical leader who enjoys a mix of hands-on technical oversight and personnel management. Required Skills
Education
Master Craftsman (Meister), Technician, or a University Degree (Bachelor/Diploma) in Supply Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a comparable field.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in the service and maintenance sector
- Professional experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technology
- Experience in leading and managing staff within a technical department
- Experience with building technology modernization and conversion projects
- Experience in handling safety-critical technical installations
Languages
Additional
- Valid Class B driver's license required. Must be willing to participate in on-call standby services and ongoing professional training. For foreign degrees, a statement of comparability from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required.
