Job Summary
As a Technical Officer in the Central Services department in Karlsruhe, you will play a vital role in market surveillance and quality assurance for the state of Baden-Württemberg. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve planning and constructing experimental test setups, developing test plans based on international standards, and conducting rigorous safety and energy efficiency inspections on a wide range of consumer products. You will analyze goods from retail stores and online shops to ensure compliance with the Product Safety Act and Ecodesign Directive, ultimately drafting detailed test reports and advising regulatory authorities. Required Skills
Education
University degree (Bachelor, Diploma) in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or equivalent. Alternatively, state-certified technicians with extensive professional experience may apply.
Experience
- Professional experience in engineering or technical product testing
- Experience in the construction of experimental and test setups
- Practical experience with measurement systems and control software
- Experience in interpreting and applying technical standards and directives
- Laboratory experience in electrotechnical or physical-mechanical fields is preferred
- Professional background in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or mechanical engineering

- Foreign degrees require a formal evaluation from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). Candidates must possess manual dexterity for experimental construction. The position is based in Karlsruhe and is suitable for entry-level applicants.
