Job Summary

This doctoral position at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin focuses on the cutting-edge field of Biophotonics. The successful candidate will spend three years developing methods for the reproducible production of nanoscale drug carriers, specifically liposomes loaded with platinum-based drugs and fluorophores. Day-to-day responsibilities include structural-analytical and optical-spectroscopic characterization, as well as developing measurement protocols to quantify drug loading efficiency using ICP-MS and fluorescence spectroscopy. The role also involves investigating luminescent nanothermometers for sensitivity and accuracy. This position is ideal for researchers interested in interdisciplinary bioanalytical and biomedical questions. It offers a highly attractive research environment with state-of-the-art laboratory infrastructure, the opportunity to work within international networks, and excellent work-life balance through flexible hours and up to 60% mobile work.
