Job Summary
This full-time, permanent position at the University of Konstanz involves supporting a developmental biology research group focused on zebrafish models. You will perform a variety of molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, genotyping, cloning, and in situ hybridization. Beyond bench work, the role encompasses critical laboratory organization, database management, and the care of fish strains, including crossing and injections. Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant (e.g., BTA, MTA, CTA) or an equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience as a Technical Assistant or in a equivalent laboratory role
- Experience in molecular biological activities such as cloning and genotyping
- Experience in handling laboratory animals, specifically zebrafish, is preferred
- Experience with laboratory documentation and data analysis
- Experience with laboratory database organization
Languages
Additional
- FELASA-compliant laboratory animal science course certification for fish is highly advantageous. Must be willing to work with zebrafish models.
