This role at the University of Konstanz involves driving the future of High Performance Computing (HPC) within the bwHPC state projects. You will be responsible for the full-cycle relaunch of the existing user management system using 'Coldfront' (Python-based) and providing expert consultancy to scientists on data-intensive research projects. Day-to-day tasks include optimizing jobs and software on HPC clusters using Slurm, evaluating innovative AI technologies, and collaborating with regional project partners. The position is ideal for those who enjoy a mix of software development and research support. Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific computing or data storage projects
  • Proven experience in software development using Python
  • Experience with HPC tools, methods, and parallelization techniques
  • Experience in analyzing and optimizing software on HPC clusters
  • Experience working with Unix-based operating systems
  • Experience in consulting or supporting researchers in a technical capacity
