Job Summary

This role is part of the 'MoveRDM' project, a collaboration between the University of Konstanz and the Max Planck Institute for Animal Behaviour. As a member of the Open Science team, you will lead the conceptualization and development of a 'Field Protocol Composer' specifically for animal movement data. Your daily responsibilities include conducting requirements analysis for the Movebank Data Repository, refining metadata schemas, and managing publication workflows. You will act as a bridge between technical infrastructure and scientific research, providing expert consultation and training to researchers on data management plans. This position is ideal for those passionate about Open Science and interested in developing specialized digital infrastructures. Required Skills

Education

University degree (Master's level or equivalent), preferably with a background in Natural Sciences or Information Science.

Experience

  • Professional experience in research data management
  • Experience collaborating directly with scientific researchers
  • Experience in requirements analysis for software or data systems
  • Experience with metadata standards and publication workflows
  • Experience with repository systems (ideally DSpace) is preferred
