Job Summary

This full-time, permanent role at the Bergen Training Area Command involves the independent maintenance and repair of complex telecommunications and network infrastructure. You will be responsible for diagnosing faults in electronic telecommunications equipment, active/passive LAN components, and emergency call stations. Daily tasks include performing advanced measurements with digital systems, documenting results, and analyzing technical documents such as circuit diagrams and network plans. You will also handle the installation and decommissioning of fiber optic and copper media, as well as the integration of radio kits into military vehicles and towers. This position is unique for its blend of high-tech electronics work within a military environment, offering the stability of the German Federal Public Service (TVöD) and access to on-site health and sports programs. The role requires a hands-on professional capable of working with both analog and fiber optic technology while adhering to strict safety standards.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Information and Telecommunications Systems Electronics Technician (specializing in Telecommunications) or a comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in the field of telecommunications and measurement technology is highly desired
  • Experience in evaluating technical documentation, including circuit diagrams and topographic maps
  • Experience in installing and commissioning electronic telecommunications and power supply systems
  • Experience in performing switching operations in telephone and emergency call networks
