Job Summary
This role involves leading the Technical Operations Group at the Bundeswehr Service Center in Cologne, managing a team of approximately ten skilled tradespeople. As the head of this unit, you will oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical technical building systems, including electrical engineering, heating, water supply, and building automation. Your daily responsibilities include coordinating personnel, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and managing workflows within SAP. You will also be responsible for procurement requirements and technical service descriptions. This position is particularly attractive for experienced master craftsmen looking for a leadership role within the public sector (TVöD E 9a), offering the stability of the Bundeswehr, options for mobile work/home office, and a clear path toward permanent employment following a successful security clearance.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training as an Electronics Technician for Energy and Building Technology (or similar) plus a successfully completed Master Craftsman's certificate (Meisterprüfung) in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
Experience
- Professional experience as a Master Craftsman in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
- Several years of experience in the operation and maintenance of technical building systems, specifically supply and disposal systems
- Proven experience in personnel management and team leadership
- Experience in managing technical facilities for assembly halls or sports facilities is highly desirable
- Practical experience using SAP and MS Office for operational planning and controlling
Languages
Additional
- Must undergo an Ü2 level security clearance. Valid Class B driver's license required (and willingness to obtain a Bundeswehr driving permit). Physical fitness for technical site inspections is mandatory. Initial contract is fixed-term pending security clearance results.
